Do I Need a UX Designer?

People often ask me if they need a UX... Uhm, who am I kidding?
The truth is that they often ask for 'a designer', which in most cases means that they need a visual or interface designer.
Another thing they have in common is the timing of the question (late), which is logical as they are looking for visual or interface designers.

What is it that you do then?

Visual designers and UI designers are two roles in the process of creating the user experience. Other disciplines are: information architects, interaction designers, frontend developers, user researchers and more.
The UX designer's task is to align these disciplines and keep a clear and consistent UX Design, during the entire project.

But, do I need one?
